Recently, I've received invitations to be friends on Facebook and LinkedIn. At this time, I am not on Facebook / LinkedIn. Many apologies :( However, I am on Pinterest and you can enjoy my boards here:
And, I recently joined Instagram, where I'll be posting travel, shop, garden and design photos. Look for photos from our upcoming buying trip. My username: loithai
Above: A photo of Brussels, Belgium I shared on Instagram.
Now for the giveaway:
To celebrate my blog's belated anniversary, I'm giving away one original oil on board landscape painting from a listed American impressionist painter (born 1942, Connecticut). I'm confirming the signatures (signed front and back) and will reveal the artist to the winner. Here are the rules of this contest:
- If you'd like a chance to win, just leave a comment.
- All are welcome, whether you have a blog or not. Including readers outside the U.S.
- One name (by comment number) will be drawn randomly via Random.org.
- I'll announce the winner on March 12, 2013.
- The painting will be shipped free of charge to the winner. Just not to a PO Box address.
- Only one entry per person.
I'm taking a short blog break, and will be back to announce the winner on March 12, 2013. Thanks for your visit!
I fell in love with the blues, greens and grays of this painting. Not that art should match furniture, but I think this painting is in perfect harmony with Swedish painted furniture.
The painting (almost 10"w x 8"h) is probably 50 years old. I purchased it in an antiques shop in Pennsylvania.

So nice of you to have a give away! I love the blues and greens of the picture and am crossing my fingers for luck! Thank you for your gracious gesture!
ReplyDeleteCrossing my fingers for luck! What a beautiful oil painting!
ReplyDeleteMarch 12th is my father's 75th birthday! What a beautiful gift this would be... Thank you for the chance!

Imagine Eeyore's melodramatic drawl as you read my comment....."Oh all right, I'll leave a comment. Not because I could win, because I never win anything. I will leave a comment only because I adore Loi's blog and if he is offering a give away then I know it is because it makes him happy and I want to know I contributed to that."
ReplyDeleteNow imagine my high pitched squeal...."oh I hope I win, oh I hope I win!"

ReplyDeleteHello Loi, Glad to hear you (and Mocha) are feeling better. I think that there has been more going around this year than in the past.
ReplyDeleteI too have not joined any of those internet groups so far. It seems that the pressure of keeping up with them would outweigh the advantages, kind of like having too many magazine subscriptions, even for journals you admire. I of course reserve the right to change my mind on this issue.
--Road to Parnassus

So glad to hear that you Loi are feeling better and furthermore , you are organising this giveaway for us.I wish you to continue blogging for longer, keeping your strength, inspiration and talent . I will hope the random number gods are on my side since March 11th is my birthday so this would be timely. haha. Happy blogiversary. I hope everything will be ok. And I am so glad to hear you are doing better. You are such a joy! We are all so lucky to have you share your talents. I will look forward to reading your blog when you return in March.
ReplyDeleteWith my kindest regards,
Susan =)
I am so glad you and Mocha are doing better.
ReplyDeleteI found your blog through Meg at Pigtown Design. I am also a blogger in the Baltimore area. If I ever find myself in your area I intend to visit your gorgeous shop.
I have become a little obsessed lately with landscape paintings. I have started to collect a few. They are never expensive. I found mine at consignment stores, antique shops and even at Goodwill. The only requirement is that they speak to me in some way. The painting you are giving away took my breath away. I love the impressionistic quality of it and the use of color. I would be beyond thrilled to win this.
How generous of you, Loi, to give away this lovely painting. Please put my name in the drawing. I promise to treat it with care if I should happen to win! :)

Dear Loi,

All the Best,
Anne
Loi, The painting has my name on it. I am especially enamored with landscapes as they defy time. I hope the random drawing apparatus thinks it should come home to Pennsylvania. :) I understand about taking a break from blogging, but please come back because your posts are a treat! Btw, I love the brick work and roof line of the Belgium building and like another commenter, I have spent way too much time repinning so much of what you have pinned! Your eye speaks to mine! Take care...hope to see you soon in Tone on Tone.
ReplyDeleteI am speechless, as usual, when I come here Loi.
ReplyDeleteI am very late since I too am on a semi-break before I take my full blogging break next week. MAY I ENTER? Please? I am a follower of your wonderful world here, and this painting is SUPREME. All the blues are my favorite (aside from the grays and whites we love). Oh how lucky the recipient of this little masterpiece will be!
Be well, and I am so glad that Mocha is better. May she continue to thrive, and that you and Tom will enjoy a break together! Anita

ReplyDeleteLoi and Mocha,
ReplyDeleteSo glad to read you are both better now. This has been a tough winter, look forward to Spring just around the corner. Art, friendships, and love for our pet children are the true treasures in life. When something changes in this trio there's always love to return to...in all things. All the best for Mocha (cutie pie).
This painting is lovely and reminds me of my many museum trips and studies for my art history degree. So lovely and a blessing to display it in a home... great giveaway.
