American Oil Painting Giveaway

I want to thank everyone for your good wishes and kind words. First of all, Mocha (our 11 year old Tibetan Terrier) is doing much better. Her appetite is back and so is her spunk! She needs further tests on her liver and pancreas - wish us luck! As for me, I am fine and back at the shop.
 Below: Mocha back home, and sporting a pre-spring cut.
Recently, I've received invitations to be friends on Facebook and LinkedIn. At this time, I am not on Facebook / LinkedIn. Many apologies :(

Now for the giveaway:  

To celebrate my blog's belated anniversary, I'm giving away one original oil on board landscape painting from a listed American impressionist painter (born 1942, Connecticut). I'm confirming the signatures (signed front and back) and will reveal the artist to the winner. Here are the rules of this contest:

- If you'd like a chance to win, just leave a comment.
- All are welcome, whether you have a blog or not. Including readers outside the U.S.
- One name (by comment number) will be drawn randomly via Random.org. 
- I'll announce the winner on March 12, 2013.
- The painting will be shipped free of charge to the winner. Just not to a PO Box address.
- Only one entry per person.

 I fell in love with the blues, greens and grays of this painting. Not that art should match furniture, but I think this painting is in perfect harmony with Swedish painted furniture.
 The painting (almost 10"w x 8"h) is probably 50 years old. I purchased it in an antiques shop in Pennsylvania.

    I too have not joined any of those internet groups so far. It seems that the pressure of keeping up with them would outweigh the advantages, kind of like having too many magazine subscriptions, even for journals you admire. I of course reserve the right to change my mind on this issue.

    I just read about Mocha! Our dog Ralph isn't doing well neither. He has a heart disease that is inherent to cavalier king charles! But he is only 5 years old! I do have to give him lots of medication and since a couple of weeks he is feeling better!I do hope that he can stay with us for a while! We have all so much sorrow as Ralph is a member of our family!

    Mocha is adorable and I just want to hug her. What a sweet little dog. Secondly, glad to hear you are well again and hope your absence involves travel to somewhere nice. I am not on Facebook either but I am on LinkedIn for professional reasons. I always feel like I am missing something on Facebook but resist the draw on more of my time. I am trying to do LESS computer work as I sit in front of one for 8-9 hr/day at the office. Ugh!

    I found your blog through Meg at Pigtown Design. I am also a blogger in the Baltimore area. If I ever find myself in your area I intend to visit your gorgeous shop.

    I have become a little obsessed lately with landscape paintings. I have started to collect a few. They are never expensive. I found mine at consignment stores, antique shops and even at Goodwill. The only requirement is that they speak to me in some way. The painting you are giving away took my breath away. I love the impressionistic quality of it and the use of color.     So glad to read you are both better now. This has been a tough winter, look forward to Spring just around the corner. Art, friendships, and love for our pet children are the true treasures in life. When something changes in this trio there's always love to return to...in all things.
